FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The most popular Light Sport Aircraft manufacturer, Super Petrel USA is hosting its annual Trifecta Event on November 5th – 8th. This November 2025 Super Petrel free aircraft mechanics training event is a must for mechanics, owners and anyone who wants to learn more about this exciting aircraft.
This is the 5th annual event being held at the Ormond Beach Municipal Airport (OMN).
And again, the big story is it’s free for mechanics. And anyone who takes a demo flight and buys an aircraft, that demo flight will be credited back, so that’s free too.
This event will teach you all about the aircraft and its maintenance. So, again it’s free for qualified FAA LSRM and A&P aircraft maintainers. Others may attend the event for $400.

Here are some highlights of this upcoming, don’t miss event:
Wednesday, November 5th (6:00 PM) “Ice Breaker Event”, meet and greet session, led by former Navy fighter pilots, now Super Petrel staff.
Thursday, November 6th (8:30 AM) Introduction by Roger Helton, president of Super Petrel USA, who discussing, as mentioned above, continuing support for the LS aircraft including parts and technical support. Followed by Rodrigo Scoda, president of Scoda Aeronautica of Brazil, manufacturer of the aircraft, who will address the Super Petrel XP and future changes and improvements.
John Melchert, aircraft owner and expert on the LS Super Petrel Aircraft, will present the real inside information on MOGAS vs 100LL fuels and a deeper dive on the aircraft electrical systems. Get your questions ready.
Retired Admiral Bill Gortney, our SPUSA Director of Safety, will focus on Airmanship, Flight Safety, Mishap Review and aircraft emergency EGRES. Flying and Aviation Risk Management will be presented by Dan Pedersen our SPUSA Vice President and Chief Pilot. Beginning after the lunch break (provided) the afternoon maintenance session will be presented by Mark Ziegler (Ziggy), Director of Maintenance along with Todd Wean, lead Customer Support expert, with the focus on what maintenance owners may perform on their own aircraft.
Friday, November 7th (8:30 AM) Mark Ziegler (Ziggy) will focus on the 100 hour and 5-year Compliance Inspection check list and cover special interest items to include Propeller Balancing, Engine Oil and Filter change, Engine and Wing Torquing, Landing Gear inspection and Gas Spring testing, Wheel Bearings replacement, and many more items. The Rotax Line Maintenance Manual checklist will be discussed as it is part of the inspection process.
Saturday, November 8th (8:30 AM) Wrap up day to complete the Annual Inspection and answer any questions. The purpose of the Tri-Fecta is to focus primarily on three areas, Safety, Maintenance and Aircraft Equipment updates. It is also a great opportunity to meet other owners and see the new Super Petrel XP.
