2025 State Of The Private Jet Charter Industry Series

Many times, when we read about the state of an industry or what’s happening, it’s all based on a bunch of statistics and what ifs. The Aircraft Guys Blog has taken a different approach. They have a team talking to subscribers and readers of the Aviation Marketing Experts newsletter to hear from real people in the business as to what is happening. This new 2025 State of the Private Jet Charter Industry Series gives a real human insight perspective.

The first part of the series has already been published. Here is a link to the article: https://aircraftguys.com/2025-state-of-the-private-jet-charter-industry-part-1/

Here at Aviation Marketing Experts, we share lots of cool stories and free marketing tips on how to grow your businesses.

As mentioned in the first article of the series, despite people actually reading about these proven strategies, that in many cases are little or no cost, how few people are actually using them. When asked about it, most say, “I don’t know. That is a good idea. We should try it”.

As they talk to these companies, what they found is that many still rely on word of mouth. Some have good success with paid advertising. Others say they are struggling with marketing.

And for clarification, it’s more than just charter businesses they are talking to. It includes maintenance, sales, MROs and management companies. So, a real good cross section of the industry.

What is consistent is that when comparing January and February 2024 to 2025, most say business is the about the same. Certainly, that is somewhat different than other articles out there that talk about all the growth.

Common among all of them is increased operating costs without increased rates. So, there are less profit margins. This is why many of the Part 135 operators who have larger fleets and can afford paid marketing, are going more and more retail for higher margins. That up to 15% for brokers is too much.

However, operators of 5 or less aircraft rely much heavier on brokers to get new business. They in turn are really getting squeezed on profits.

We are now offering some new services geared toward smaller Part 135 operators on how to improve those profits, in some cases, dramatically. Remember, we’ve been at this for over 45 years, so we know this business.
